How Do We Do It?

Would you like to know what dye-sublimation is and how we apply our artwork to the many products that we offer? If so then read on.
Like we stated above, the process we use is called dye-sublimation. It is a printing application of a particular type of ink that uses six CMYK dye cartridges (light cyan, dark cyan, light magenta, dark magenta, yellow and black). These inks can produce full color designs in an array of rainbow colors as well as range from black to light gray. However, since manufacturers don’t produce white ink for jet-printers, white is the only “color” that is excluded in dye-sublimation.
Once the digital art his been printed onto high-release transfer paper, the paper is coupled with a substrate that will readily absorb the dye, (e.g., items made of polyester - t-shirts, sweat shirts, ball caps, mouse pads, and tote bags, or polymer coated items - plastic, ceramic, jewelry, glass, and even stone.)
It is then placed on a heat-press plantain. When heat and pressure are applied for a certain length of time, the sublimation ink converts to a gas which is then infused directly into the substrate. Since the ink is impregnated into the substrate rather than applied topically, such as in screen printing and direct to garment printing, the infused ink will not crack or peel with age and can be washed time after time without fading.
